Postcards from Antarctica

A tapestry of collective action

Bringing the Map to Life

Exhibition

The world premiere of 'Postcards from Antarctica' is happening in Sydney during Australia's National Science Week (August 15-23, 2026). Join us at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, University of Sydney. The exhibition opening event will be on the evening of Tuesday 18 August. Registration is required.

More than an exhibition, the opening event offers a chance to experience Antarctica through the stories of the people who travelled there. Alongside the artwork, visitors will be able to explore immersive 360-degree virtual reality footage captured during the expedition, hear from members of the project team about creating the artwork in Antarctica, and enjoy a series of short talks and conversations exploring Antarctic science, environmental stewardship and the role of creativity in helping people connect with places they may never visit.
